Hi folks
At Coventry we took the decision to NOT produce a specific policy on either sexuality or religion and belief. When our umbrella policy on equality and diversity was revised last year we ensured both area were included.
Instead of new stand alone policies we are working to ensure our existing mainstream policies do not discriminate in either area and indeed allow enough flexibility to go further than mere legal compliance.
The new legislation will be briefed in the internal newsletter, distributed to all staff, next week (giving the ecu web site as a good source of info). Also I am working with Personnel on a briefing sheet for managers (which will include the calendar of holy and festival days, produced by our Chaplaincy) and am doing a presentation to our
Executive (Deans, Directors, PVCs ...) next week. I hope also tow work with the Gay Soc within the SU.
Cheers
Sarah

I was wondering if anyone has produced policies and or guidance to incorporate the legislative requirements. Have you added this to your existing equality policies or produced new policies. Grateful for any comments.
