There are one or two places remaining on the EOHEN Training
days scheduled for Thursday 11th March and Friday 12th March, 1999.
Training will take place in room 215 Focus Court at University
College London, commencing at 9.30 am (coffee available at 9.15) and
ending at 4.30 pm.
Training on the 11th is for officers new to an EO Role.
Course objectives are to gain knowledge of EO Legislation and
relevant facts
to develop a basic awareness of minority issues in all areas
to develop skills in formulating and implementing an EO action plan
to practise addressing EO issues within ones own institution
Training on the 12th is for EO in Recruitment and Selection
Course objectives are to understand why an awareness of EO is
essential in the recruitment process
to develop skills for use at vacancy/advertising/shortlisting and
interview stages of recruitment in order to meet EO requirements
whilst recruiting the best person for the job.
to practise dealing with EO issues during recruitment interviews
Both days will be a mix of delivery, group work, discussion and role
play ending with an action planning session - personal, professional
and institutional.
