Hi Katya,
I like the idea of using 'resources' within the institution to deliver
drama in training. The costs are minimal and there are opportunities for
positive engagement with students about their experiences and their
perspectives on diversity issues. For example, during the Dyslexia
symposium that we organised at Salford last year, a group of our own
drama students did a series of sketches that stimulated a very positive
debate among those who saw the performance.

Hi Helen,
I have used a Glasgow-based theatre company called Birds of Paradise
before for Race Equality training. They are an inclusive theatre
company so that adds an extra dimension.
Forum theatre is a great way to explore equality & diversity issues.
And I have been using Forum Theatre for several years in my own work to
explore a variety of issues with a variety of people.
There is a lot of expertise in house her at the Royal Scottish Academy
of Music and Drama in relation to using theatre as a way of stimulating
discussion and facilitating thought processes.
I'd be more than happy to enter into a dialogue to see whether I/we
could help you.
Please feel free to contact me on 0141 2708 319
Best wishes,
Katja

Subject: Theatre-based training
Hi all
We are looking into possibly running some theatre-based E&D training
workshops for senior staff and/or staff of all grades. Do any of you
have any
experience of working with any theatre workshop companies for E&D
training
within an HE setting? If so, would you be able to let me know how this
went?
Many thanks
Helen
