Hi Ann,
You may be interested in the HEA disability project we are engaged in which
has used an Appreciative Inquiry approach to engage the interest and
commitment of academic staff in developing inclusive learning and teaching.
The approach, using students as researchers, proved very successful and my
colleague and I presented a case study at the HECU4 conference in June this
year. We'll also be presenting at the HEA conference on Sept 10th in London.

If you'd be interested in finding out more about the project, you'll find a
synopsis at the following site:

Please contact me if you'd like further information - I've developed a 'Step
by Step Guide to USing the AI Approach' which you might find helpfu, and the
approach is certainly adaptable to a range of target groups.
All best wishes

Subject: equality and diversity leadership and management development
Dear all
I am currently working with the University of Brighton to research options
for equality and diversity support and development activities/tools for the
Board of Governors, senior staff and managers.
Does anyone have experiences or information that you could share on how you
have approached this in your institutions? Ie what have you done and how
has this been received? Can you recommend good speakers or facilitators for
this level of engagement? Is there anything that you would not recommend!?
Have you come across practice or initiatives from other sectors that might
be helpful?
Thanks in advance
Ann Allcock
