Hi Fiona
At Cranfield University we conducted a staff Valuing People study which was a combination of focus groups and a survey in 2003, following this we carried out numerous roadshows led by the VC and the Deputy VC to share with staff findings of our study. This led to further feedback from our staff, which we incorporated into our corporate diversity action plans. The study also highlighted different issues across schools and service areas, which led to developing individual diversity action plans, these are now being implemented and are regulary reviewed and are addressing some of the issues which came out of the study.
The Diversity Manager works with the HR manager for each school/service are to support the senior management team to address the objectives highlighted in their action plan which are then reported to our Diversity Committee.
Hope this helps please contact me if you want to discuss this further.

Subject: FW: Mainstreaming equalities
I am interested to know if any other HEI's have developed good practice
on how to mainstream equalities issues within departments and faculties?
Maybe this would be a useful topic to keep replies 'on list'??
Many thanks.
Best wishes, Fiona.
