Dear Lynne,
My understanding is that monitoring demand for and access to support
services by racial group is a vital part of fulfilling HEI's Specific
Duties.
You may find the HEFCE Audit Service's Good Practice Checklist for
considering the implications of the RRAA helpful:
http://www.hefce.ac.uk/goodprac/audit/rrcheck/rrcheck.pdf
Section 15 says
Does the institution monitor by racial group demand for, and access to,
each of the institution's student support services?

* Health & welfare
* International office
* Accommodation
* Sport and recreation
* Disability assist
* Chaplaincy

Subject: RRAA monitoring requirements
Can anyone tell me if the monitoring by ethnicity of students' first
choice of accommodation, ie, how many students get their first choice,
is required by the RRAA? My feeling is that this is not a priority area
for monitoring but I would be interested to hear if others have included
this.
Kind regards,
Lynne
