Lynne I think the answer would be that all policies, practices and procedures have to be monitored. Those which are likely to have the most relevance in terms of race should be given priority. My view would be that where students live and whether they get their first choice has quite a high bearing on their experience of university life. It would certainly seem to me to be an area worth monitoring. ( housing used to be one of the main areas of complaint in the days before the Race Relations Act) Berry

Subject: RRAA monitoring requirements
Can anyone tell me if the monitoring by ethnicity of students' first
choice of accommodation, ie, how many students get their first
choice, is required by the RRAA? My feeling is that this is not a
priority area for monitoring but I would be interested to hear if
others have included this.
Kind regards,
Lynne
