Dear All
We run a (now compulsory) session on Recruitment and Selection (staff
recruitment)for all panel members involved in the process and have updated
that - our EO policy is out of date and is in the process of review, even
though it already covers both categories of new legislation.
We produced a leaflet for all staff on the new Race Equality Policy when it
was introduced (main statement, contact numbers, one triple folded A4 sheet)
and have decided to produce a general Equal Opportunities handbook with an
outside organisation. This will cover all the legislation, guidance on
acceptable language, reference to the policies, and a quiz. At the moment
it's about 50 A5 pages long! So we're going to cut it down a bit, the aim is
for it to be about 25 -30.

Subject: Information for staff on forthcoming Regulations on Sexual
Orient ation and Religion or Belief
Dear colleagues
We are currently drafting further guidance for managers regarding the above
in respect of staffing issues. We are also considering providing a (brief)
guidance note for all staff about the forthcoming legislation and reminding
them of their responsibilities in respect of discrimination legislation
generally. Is anyone else planning to do this or done anything along these
lines in the past? Would be grateful for any help/suggestions.
Thank you.
