Dear Ann,
we've just completed work on the Open University's fourth EO Development
Plan: it covers the period 2000 - 2005 and is in two parts:
EO Strategy
This sets the overall context and defines key objectives covering four main
areas of activity:
* 1 Infrastructure and organisation
* 2 Staffing
* 3 Students
* 4 Curriculum
The EO Action Plan
This sets out detailed actions, schedules, targets and responsibilities
related to each of the key objectives. (The actions etc. are defined for all
levels of organisation.)
We used this template for our previous development plan, and found that the
detailed breakdown of actions, schedules etc. in the Action Plan really was
worth all the effort - it turned out to be useful both as a practical
handbook and as a monitoring tool.
It's far from perfect and we've a long way to go - but if you feel it would
be useful I'd be happy to provide a copy of the 1997-2000 * plan.
Regards,
Hilary
* I'll be able to send a copy of the 2000-2005 version sometime in Autumn
when it's been through the final stages of formal approval.
