Dear Jeanne,
The Open University has an Equal Opportunities Committee with terms of
reference covering EO strategic development across staff, student and
curriculum activities.
EO development is also supported by an EO management team, various advisory
committees (e.g. the Advisory Committee for Students with Disabilities), EO
project teams and ad hoc working groups.
The Committee meets three times a year, it has a dual reporting line to the
Academic Board and the Staff Policy Committee and it is chaired by the
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Students, Quality and Standards) - the University
Officer with the institutional brief for equal opportunities. Other
University Officers, including the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Staff and Research)
and the University Secretary, are also members of the Committee.
This enclosure gives some information on our internal organisation for EO
along with the EO Committee's terms of reference, mode of operation and
membership.
