I would like to include in these questions the following:
How do you go about updating your information? and how often is this done?
Is it compulsory for all individuals to fill in?
What do you do about those who do not wish to either fill in the form or
choose to put "other" or "information not available"?
What "category" is there for individuals who are from mixed families?

Subject: RE: Equal Opportunities Form
I was about to reply to this one when I saw Hilary's message. Is the OU
package off-the-shelf?
We have a paper form, used for support staff appointments which I am adding
to
this message as an attachment. We have an extremely devolved system for
this
group of staff, so we collect responses from departments, hope that they are
accurate (the 'ethnicity not given' category seems to take a dip at
shortlisting stage, and I wonder whether there is a tendency to recategorise
applicants after seeing them). Our respondents do now seem to appreciate
that, for instance, 'Russian' is not an ethnic category as far as the CRE
goes.
Responses are analysed on a rather cumbersome Excel spreadsheet which I
devised.
The system works, but I wouldn't recommend it - I'd like to do something
more
sophisiticated. Hilary, help?
Jenny
