Dear Colleagues,
I am planning our first equality survey for students. We are debating here how to ask the question
about gender reassignment status.
we want to make the question simple and have the following suggestions:
- have you changed your gender identity or do you intend to do so?
or
- is your gender identity the same as the gender you were assigned at birth?
I had comments that the last one would not capture people who are planning on changing their gender
and also some comments about the word "assigned".
Thanks for letting me know if you are asking this question and how? Have you found any good practice?
Thanks a lot
Bertille
