Hi Anne
Thanks for this information, and yes, I would find it very helpful to
discuss. I'll be in touch shortly.
Kind regards

Dear Ann
The Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) did a paper on similar issues as you have
mentioned a while ago. it may be useful to read it as a starting point and
you will learn that there are different models depending on Institutional
structures and priorities.
Such a review was undertaken before I started working In Hull four years ago
and the post is located in the Quality Director, University Registrar's
Office. The post provides leadership on equality and diversity issues
covering both staff and students. Its also advisory and project based and
advises/supports directorates and faculties on diversity issues. Please do
not hesitate to contact me if you'd like to discuss informally.

Subject: equality and diversity organisational structure
Dear all
I am currently working with a university in south east England to ensure
that their organisational structure to support equality and diversity is as
effective as possible, and as part of a review I am collecting information
on alternative models or structures across HE or other parts of the public
sector.
I am particularly interested in:
* situations where the approach has been to move away from the
HR and/or Student Services-based location(s) for the main E&D specialist
post(s);
* experiences of the development of an effective network of
Equality/Diversity Champions;
* the level of seniority of your E&D specialist/professional
post(s) and an overview of their role and key responsibilities;
* other key components of your structure, such as
Equality/Diversity Committee, Forum, Steering Group etc.
Can anyone help me with information on this? I would be pleased to discuss
off-line if that is easier for you.
Thanks and kind regards
Ann
