Dear Colleagues
Following the IEDP launch event I attended yesterday, I promised to provide you with a
brief summary of the what the event covered and have done so in the attached short
document. I found the event interesting and a great opportunity to network with other
practitioners in the E and D field. I feel it is early days yet in terms of how the
institute will develop , however I found it comforting to know that it is well endorsed
by EHRC and Government Equality Office. I think the body may be able to support me as a E
and D practitioner , the acid test will be the competency standards required to be met to
be a Member (rather than associate as I currently now am after attending yesterdays event)
and the continuing CPD that one may come to expect and rely on in the ever changing field
of E and D.
The steering group/volunteers setting up the institute were very open to receiving as
much support as possible and they are keen to see a wider representation from Universities
as well as private sector practitioners.
Hope this gives you enough information, please feel free to contact me on 0161 247 6294
if there is other questions or alternatively you can contact IEDP direct at info@iedp
