Richard: MU has almost the same. I have a regular debate with
HR as to why they ask about disability on the applicationform,
when they don't ask about other groups which are the focus of EO
work. The answer is that they "think managers need to know" so
as to arrange interviews appropriately, and because of our policyof
interviewing all disabled people who meet the essential criteria for a
job. Which, incidentally, is a policy I'm not keen on either. At least
now they don't ask "what is the nature of your disability".
The debate goes on.
I thinkthat your "further particulars" could be attached to your
survey to try and encourage disabled people to come forward. It's
always a difficult one.
Susanna.
