Yes we are doing the same as you, this was agreed at out last EO Committee
Meeting.
I am wondering whether we need to do kind of combination policy where the
dignity at work bit comes first, spelling out the kind of respectful
environment we as a University wish to see upheld, with examples etc.
Then second, outlining our response if the situation has detiorated to
harassment and bullying etc because people have not drawn to our attention
earlier lapses in respect. The advantage of 'dignity at work' as I see it
is that it emphasises the positive and allows matters to come to our
attention as lapses in this required-working-environment before they get to
the stage of all-out harassment and bullying. It gives Personnel or whoever
a legitimacy in intervening at an earlier stage. What do you think? Berry
