Thanks Susan - I would be interested to hear others comments on this too as it is something we would like to discuss at our Inclusion and Diversity board.

Subject: Re: [EXT] Anti-Semetism Definition
We have looked at adopting it and then look at the definition for Islamophobia developed by the APPG which was written along a similar way and approved by the British Muslim Council. However, the definition for Islamophobia has not been adopted by the government. Having looked into the two definitions, the arguments for and against are fairly similar - attached some of the information we came across. The matter is being considered at senior management level. So we would welcome any views on this.
Many Thanks
Susan

Subject: [EXT] Anti-Semetism Definition
Hi all
Last year the IHRA definition of Antisemitism was highlighted and we were reviewing adopting the definition at UoC, to use as a tool to help front-line services better understand and recognise instances of Antimsemitism. I wanted to enquire if others had adopted the below definition or not and if you were able to provide me with reasons for the decision?
“Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
Appreciate any support on this,
Kind regards,
Lee
