Subject: Re: Parents' Networks
Hi Karen
Our network introduced pre and post maternity leave briefing sessions, bringing in an external facilitator. They have now pushed for this to be mainstreamed and from this term it will be managed by our Organisational Development team. They have also offered an informal buddy scheme for those going on maternity leave.
Best wishes
Teresa

Subject: Parents' Networks
Hi All
I am very keen that our Network Groups here at Chester have a real aim and focus so they don’t descend into focussing on things that are outside the groups' power to control.
Since our Parents' Network was established we have done some great things: setting up Parent Profiles so staff can informally contact each other about e.g. returning to work when breastfeeding, using university nursery etc; we have set up online role model profiles; created a guide for prospective parents and managers; developed checklists for before during and after leave for managers to use. Now I feel we have done so much in our first year, I need some new ideas of things to work towards.
Have your Parents' Networks worked towards any projects that have made a difference?
Looking for ideas and really grateful to anyone willing to share best practice
Thanks
Kathryn Leighton
