Dear All
Here at Winchester we are looking to persuade our travel insurance providers to remove a clause which denies cover for issues arising from HIV or AIDS (but no similar denial for issues arising from any other pre-existing illnesses such as cancer etc.)
Our insurers are: U.M. Association Limited and Excess Cover Providers Tokio Marine Kiln
(http://www.umal.co.uk/travel/)
I wonder if you are interested in:
1) If you share the same insurer (I understand many Universities may use these) also calling on them to remove the clause - their CEO is currently considering our request.
2) if you have a different insurer but they have a similar clause (they are commonplace) also calling on those to remove this
3) if you have an insurer that does not have this clause - sharing this information.
I would be very interested to hear of any actions that you do take and their upshot.
Many Thanks,
Carol
