For those who might be in or around Yorkshire in a few weeks time, consider joining the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity at the University of Bradford for our free upcoming seminar taking place on Thursday 25 February 2016 from 13:45 to 15:45.
Diversity Challenge Seminar: Can anything be done to combat the cultural apartheid that still blights West Yorkshire’s towns and cities?
Join Dr Mohammed Ali as he discusses his recent work in West Yorkshire which attempts to address the cultural apartheid that persists despite efforts to combat it. Whist cultural clustering is to be expected and can create a sense of belonging, not mixing with other ethnic groups can fuel stereotypes and mistrust and limit opportunities for those from BME backgrounds. Dr Ali is founder and chief executive of the QED Foundation established over 25 years ago. Also known as QED or QED-UK, Dr Ali’s organization exists to improve the educational, social and economic circumstances of disadvantaged communities-with a particular focus on people of ethnic minority backgrounds in UK and Europe.
This seminar will take place Thursday 25 February 2016 from 13:45 to 15:45. It is offered at no charge but advanced registration is required as places are limited. Visit the following URL to book your place http://tinyurl.com/j7bet23
