At Birmingham City University we review out published objectives every year and incorporate new objectives as necessary. Each year the objectives form a central part of the Annual Equality and Diversity Report which is presented to the Board of Governors for approval.
Our annual report for 2014 went to the July Board and the revised equality objectives and priority actions for 2014-15 will be discussed in full at the Board of Governors Away Day in September.

Subject: Equality objective setting - the end of the Equality Scheme as we knew it?
Dear Colleagues,
I hope the summer is treating you well.
Our current equality scheme expires in 2015 and we are reviewing how best to establish, frame and achieve future equality objectives and fulfil the PSED.
Is anyone else currently working on strategy and objective setting?
If so, are you thinking in terms of an equality scheme or a new strategic model?
What resources are you drawing on to set equality objectives and are you finding any gaps?
If it were possible to develop a project in this area, would colleagues welcome (and/or wish to participate in) some form of shared practice/guidance for establishing equality objectives and developing strategy?
Please contact me if you wish to answer or discuss any or all of these questions.
With thanks and best wishes,
Moira
