Subject: Implicit (unconscious) bias
Hi all,
ECU will shortly be publishing a review of literature on implicit
(unconscious) bias, focussing on where it could impact on recruitment
and selection decisions.
As part of the follow up work we intend to develop a training pack so
that institutions have the option of training their staff on implicit
bias and equipping them with strategies for mitigating implicit bias,
based on the evidence from the literature review. We hope to develop
materials in a train the trainer style model, similar to that used for
the REF.
If any of you have rolled out/delivered implicit bias training within
your institution and would be willing to share lessons learnt and tips
for delivery then it would be great to hear from you. Also, if you would
be willing to share the materials you used, that would be really
helpful.
Best wishes,
Claire
