At Lancaster, as part of our Athena SWAN action plans, we are considering removing job applicants' names from the information seen by staff recruitment panels when short-listing applications via our on-line recruitment system.
This we see as being a small but important step along the road towards eliminating unconcious bias in staff recruitment for not only gender, but all protected characteristics. (Other challenges remain e.g. names on CVs)
Please can you let me know if you remove names from job applications?
How does this work, and how effective it has been?
Many thanks
