What Works? Student retention and success conference 2012’

Bookings are now open for the ‘What Works? Student retention and success conference 2012’. This two day residential conference is the final event in the three year ‘What Works?’ Student retention and success programme, funded by HEFCE and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. It is jointly hosted by the Higher Education Academy and Action on Access and will be held on 28 - 29 March 2012 at the University of York.
The conference will provide:
• Key note addresses from leading international and UK experts in the field of student retention and success
• Final findings from the full ‘What Works?’ programme
• Practical tools developed by the project teams to assist institutions to improve retention and success
• Effective interventions from across the UK and beyond
The conference will be of particular interest to staff working in the following areas of higher education: student experience, retention and success, learning and teaching, widening participation and fair access, equality and diversity, student services, marketing and recruitment and organisational effectiveness.
We will be issuing a call for papers shortly.
The costs for the event are as follows:
Full conference (with dinner and accommodation on 28th March) - £250
Full conference (with dinner but no accommodation on 28th March) - £230
The Retention Convention held in 2010 was over-subscribed so early booking is advised.
