Dear All
As I work with Jonathan Frost here at Surrey I would support Caroline's email and encourage you all to contact Jonathan for further information.
Let me know if I do anything to further this delicate area.
Regards

Subject: Re: job description - Muslim Chaplain
Dear Christine
We haven't got a job description, but we had a workshop to help us start
thinking about developing a multifaith chaplaincy led by the Anglican
chaplain from Surrey University, where they have a multifaith chaplaincy.
I sugget you contact him to ask about it. Jonathan Frost -07870 277709

We liked the sound of his model, because Surrey used voluntary unpaid
chaplains, who were existing member of staff or close neighbours. He also
spoke about the importance of recruiting people who were committed to a
multifaith chaplaincy and wouldn't proselytise.
It seems to be the accepted terminology but I must confess that I still
find the languge of "chaplain" an odd word to use in this context, since
it is derived from the Christian tradition.
Hope all is well with you. I'm working from home today because we've got
8 inches of snow.
Best wishes
Caroline
