Dear All
At Chester we have established a working group who are looking at the Impact Assessment of academic provision, the aim being to build mechanisms in at validation stages. The aim is that considerations are made at validation stage to prevent individual subjects having to do separate EIAs on their academic provision. It is at the very early stages at the moment. It is lead by a Pro Vice Chancellor and senior member of Academic Quality Support Services.
The University of Chester holds a Diversity Festival every February and as part of the Festival 2010 we are hoping to hold a 'Sharing Best Practice' day with a number of workshops, one of which is intended to cover this subject. The date of this event is planned for the afternoon of 23rd Feb 2010 and I will send details on the list once finalised.

Marking - Equality Impact Assessments
Hello,
We're also planning EIA on assessment this year and like you would like
to know how others have tackled this to help plan our approach and make
it as robust as possible. Please would you share any feedback you get?
Best wishes,

Subject: Review and Validation of Programmes and Assessment and Marking
- Equality Impact Assessments
Hi
I'm taking on two rather large equality impact assessments this year,
one on the review and validation of programmes and the other on
Assessment and Marking. We have got good buy in and I want to make the
most of the opportunity to carry out a robust and in depth impact
assessment. Has anyone carried out an EIA on either of these areas in
the past and would be willing to share their process and results?
Many thanks
Kirsteen
