Hi
Yes, we received this the day before yesterday. I was asked to provide some information to our publicity and marketing department so they could respond. After reading the request I wondered if they were doing a 'political correctness gone mad' kind of article as they seem to want to know if we had issued a list of words that could not be used by staff.

Subject: The Sunday Times - freedom of information request concerning Equality and Diversity training and terminology
Dear all,
Newcastle University recently received a Freedom of Information request from the Sunday Times, requesting details of our Equality and Diversity training programmes, with particular emphasis on any guidance given on the use of language. It further specified we were to divulge information on any training consultants employed this context along with details of costs.
After consulting with an external company we have employed to conduct E&D training, who suggested I contact the list, it looks possible that the Sunday Times are doing a general trawl as the request was broad and was not addressed to the FOI officer at the University.
We were wondering if any other institutions had received a similar approach? If so, how have you responded? If not, I thought it would be worth making colleagues aware of the possibility they may be contacted.
Best wishes
Adam Jones
