We've had issues in the past where staff members have come to student
dyslexia support for screening and it has raised expectations etc. We
are trying to put a process in place for staff - which will probably
involve them talking to personnel/HR in the first instance, and then
any screening or diagnostic assessment will be arranged through HR. I
haven't heard of people being referred to OH for this - from my
experience of OH in former roles, I'm not sure that they would be
geared up to deal with dyslexia screening or assessment. If a staff
member is diagnosed with dyslexia and needs particular support or
equipment, then they will be advised on how to apply to the access to
work scheme. I would be very interested to know how things are
handled elsewhere.

Subject: Dyslexia Diagnosis
Dear All
We seem to have a slight issue here regarding support for staff with
dyslexia. Could you let me know whether dyslexia falls within your
Occ
Health remit or what you do when a member of staff comes forward
requiring
a diagnosis.
Thanks and Regards
Abi Salmon
