Hi,
During training I developed a screening aide which has had some positive feedback from managers (attached).
We publish everything - which isn't much but we've only just started really. All services/faculties are currently engaged in screening and we will be publishing our first annual programme of EIA's in November 08 once it's been agreed by senior management and stakeholders (primary trade unions). We developed guidance and forms which you can find on the following web pages.

Thanks,
Angeline

Hello all, has anyone produced guidelines on equality impact mapping. i.e how to help staff put their policies/procedures etc into high, medium and low priority in regards to potential for equality discrimination?
Many thanks Emma

Hi all,
I agree with Kayta; publishing is a key element of equality impact assessment. As such, our completed assessments are published on the following website:
http://www.port.ac.uk/departments/services/equalityanddiversity/
We currently only have those published which went through the screening process and then exited but hope to have the results of our full impact assessments on-line soon. For examples of our completed screenings, follow the links for EIA.

Hi all,
Don't we need to distinguish between where most of us have actually got to (that is, publishing no EIAs, or only a few) and where we're required to be?
In fact, my understanding is that an EIA has not been completed unless it has been published. And that's not just a bureaucratic point: publishing allows other people to point out things we've missed. Surely the requirement to publish is what safeguards us against entrenching our own individual or institutional ignorance and oversights.
It can also be a big hurdle for equality practitioners in a sector which is inevitably concerned about reputation, so I shouldn't think it's a straightforward issue for any of us to deal with.
Does anyone else share my concerns?
best,
Katya

Hi Kez
At Worcester the IAs we've completed are only available internally at present. They go to our Diversity and Equality Committee once completed, but we haven't completed that many yet. Hope this helps Alison

Hello Colleagues,
I am trying to seek what other HEI are doing on publishing EIA. What and how have you published, both internally and externally in your organisations.
Any information will help.
Many thanks
