we calculate by FTE here. I'm not sure if I've known of a specified
method to do it the right way as there are many ways to do it as you've
outlined below.

The problem with this is that when we breakdown by faculty where this person should be allocated, which poses potential problems of underrepresentation of minority groups in certain faculties. It could be, for instance, that one faculty has 10 disabled staff on 0.4 FTE who all had 0.6 FTE jobs in other faculties. These staff would then all be allocated to the 0.6 FTE faculties making it appear none were employed in a faculty which in fact had 10 disabled staff.

So if more than one person is undertaking multiple jobs they would be counted multiple times. This could prove misleading if, for instance, one disabled person had two contracts they would be counted twice. However, they would have been two recruitment processes so this isn't double counting as such, and it would allow a disabled person employed in two faculties to be represented in both. However, as I said it may look like we are inflating figures.
