I think the key is to establish motivation. There will be no doubt a few people that are very passionate about the subject and then many that are quite apathetic. In addition to invitations for interested staff and students to meet ( forum group style ) I would advise a staff and student survey, through your existing internal communication systems. But with an incentive attatched, ie all those that complete the survey are entered into a draw for book tokens or similar.
All the best with it, Emma

Subject: Consultation
Hello All
I would appreciate some help with how to carry out both staff and student consultation with regards to the Race Equality Scheme. Currently I am finding that staff are not willing to come forward to discuss this topic.
What techniques have you used, what was successful and why?
