Mind the Gap: Gender Styles and Stereotypes in the Workplace
A full day conference from Opportunity Now
Tuesday 03 October
9.45am - 4.30pm
Generously sponsored and hosted by Merrill Lynch
Merrill Lynch Financial Centre, London
Overt discrimination is rapidly becoming a thing of the past but women are still under represented in leadership and decision making roles in society and in the workplace. If it's not conscious discrimination that holds women back, what is it? That's the key question that diversity practitioners are striving to answer. Attention has shifted to the corporate culture and its unspoken rules and deeply embedded attitudes.
This conference will explore institutional attitudes, behaviours and cultures which often have a detrimental effect on women's careers and is a must for any leader or manager interested in exploring how workplace behaviours present hidden barriers to the non dominant culture.
Speakers include:
- Carolyn McCall, Chief Executive of Guardian Media Group and Chair of Opportunity Now
- Eleanor Tabi Haller-Jorden, General Manager, Catalyst Europe AG
- Peninah Thomson - Praesta
- Jan Babiak, Managing Partner - Regulatory and Public Policy,Ernst & Young
- Royal Mail workshop - Bullying and Harassment
- Equality Works workshop - Integrating Equality using Perfomance Appraisal
