You could try asking the Disability Rights Commission - there may be some in
the new post-16 education code of practice which should be published by now.
Mike Adams (formerly head of the National Disability Team) is now the
education person for the DRC but I don't have his direct contact details.
Come to think of it, it is not clear to me whether there is to be one set of
competence standards overall (per profession) or whether each institution
will create their own. The other thing that is on-going is the DRC's
review of "fitness to practice" issues in relation to nursing, teaching and
social work. That would also have a bearing on the competence standards
issues.

Angela,
I would be interested in seeing the responses you get from this message.
As far as Essex is concerned we had worries about some
qualification/standards for students at our acting school. I will see if
I can find out what the outcome was from our Student Disability team and
get back to you.
Best wishes,
Syd.

Subject: DDA Amendment Regulations
Dear all,
With reference to the imminent DDA Amendment Regulations 2006, could
anyone
direct me to, or provide me with appropriate examples of competence
standards which could be applied to vocational courses?

Angela
