Hannah
Be willing to be included in your research. I deliver the mandatory
Respecting Diversity sessions for all staff and during these sessions have
had many conversations with Academic and Support staff about supporting
students - and whether policies exist or not, are relevant or not, etc.
So, by all means do get in touch whenever you want to - and if you need
specific questions answered - then do ask via e-mail, address or contact
numbers given below.
Good luck.
Regards

Subject: Take up of E.O. policy by academic staff
Apologies for cross posting.
I am currently carrying out an ESRC funded PhD project looking at how
academic
staff draw upon and relate to policy promoting student welfare - in light of
the
recent torrent of government legislation. I'm particularly focusing on how
equality and diversity policy has been taken up at individual, departmental
and
institutional levels and to consider what changes have been made as a
consequence of this to academic relationships and identities. I hope to
interview staff in EO specialist roles in universities and I am interested
in
making contact with individuals for further discussion.
I would be very pleased to hear from anyone in the relevant area.
Thanks for you support,
Hannah Boyd
