Dear All,
We were wondering if colleagues had any experiences of dealing with requests to
pray (mainly from Muslim students) during scheduled examinations. Any guidance or
advice would be most appreciated - ie whether colleagues have a policy in this area,
whether students have to submit their request prior to the scheduled exam or whether
this is not really permitted during formal, scheduled exams. Naturally, we wish to
respect the religious beliefs of our students but this has to be balanced with the sheer
logistics of running large, formal examinations where interruptions can be a real
problem.
With best wishes
