Dear Colleagues
Advance notice is given of a national conference to be held in Liverpool on
the theme of "Equality and Diversity-from Education to Employment: working
together to ensure Policies and Practices effect real change" 10 - 11 May
2006 at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
The conference is collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University,
Hope University, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts,
the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Community College and is supported
by the Leadership Foundation (part funded).
This two-day conference will provide a forum for participants to debate the
current equality and diversity challenges impacting on Further and Higher
Education Institutions and to take ideas and turn them into practical
initiatives.
The aims of this conference are to:
* identify and champion existing good practice
* explore how leaders at all levels within an organisation can
drive change
* identify the barriers to change in organisations and to
develop realistic strategies for overcoming these
* have a real impact on practice, both in educational
establishments and employers
* consider the business case and legislative compliance
