Dear Jerome,
Please find attached information about our Equality & Diversity/One
World Week. Although there is only a fleeting reference to Black
History Month, we have an exhibition running for two weeks at our two
campuses during the E&D week and into November.
Details of these events etc., will shortly be posted onto our web-site
at: http://www.northampton.ac.uk/aboutus_eq_div.php

Subject: Black history month
Dear all
With apologies for cross-posting.
As you may be aware Black History Month is being promoted throughout
Britain during the month of October. The aims of Black History Month are
to promote knowledge of Black history and experience and to heighten the
confidence and awareness of Black people in their cultural heritage.
Approximately 1400 Black History Month events have taken place in the
past, with numbers increasing as awareness grows.
The Equality Challenge Unit is always interested to hear how
institutions are celebrating Black History Month. We are currently
putting together institutes' initiatives as a means of sharing
information.
With this in mind, if you would like to tell us about work your
institution is doing to celebrate Black History Month or if you have
anything you would like to emphasise, we can happily provide a link to
your website via our own website.
Please feel free to send the ECU information on your Black History Month
events and initiatives with a link to your website to me off-list. The
link can then be featured on the ECU website as a means of sharing
information with the sector.
If you would like to speak further about this then please feel free to
give me a call.
Many thanks
Jerome
