Dear All
For those of you who are in Yorkshire, MESMAC (
http://www.mesmac.co.uk/home.htm ) have officers for training on sexual
orientation awareness. I have used them before (in a previous job) and
found them to be absolutely excellent - positive and thought provoking,
and the response from staff attendees was great. Although they are
primarily a sexual health project for gay and bisexual men and men who
have sex with men, the training I commissioned was tailored to be
awareness raising for LGBT and not 'health' based. The trainer from
MESMAC included LGBT aspects including religion, ethnicity/race, culture
and disability with a real depth of understanding.
I don't know if they can offer training outside of Yorkshire, but they
might be able to give contacts.

Subject: Equality training on sexual orientation issues
Dear colleagues
We're investigating the possibility of equality training for staff
focusing on sexual orientation issues. Has anyone already done this? Any
suggestions about possible trainers? We'd be glad of your thoughts
about this
