Dear All,
The Equality Challenge Unit and HEFEC have produced practical guidance on how to conduct impact assessments for equal opportunities in higher education.
The document offers a step-by-step guide to carrying out impact assessments in a clear and jargon-free way and is a tool with which HEIs can not only meet the requirements of legislation, but also go beyond it, promoting and celebrating equality and diversity in their institution.
The guidance has been sent to all HEIs and can be downloaded from the HEFCE website http://www.hefce.ac.uk/Pubs/HEFCE/2004/04_37/04_37.pdf
Additional hard copies are available from HEFCE http://www.hefce.ac.uk/Pubs/HEFCE/2004/04_37/default.asp
Alternative formats are available on request
Many thanks to all the equal opportunities practitioners who contributed to this guidance
with best wishes
Yasmin
