Subject: Training Course in Equality and Diversity Skills - 2nd chance!

	Dear Colleagues,

Trinity Development is again holding the above course in Newcastle (venue to be confirmed), from September 21 to the 24 inclusive. The course is being held for our staff, consultants and training facilitators. It will cover all the Equality and Diversity areas of legislative requirement on institutional employment and service provision practice.

We have a few spaces available which we would like to offer, to any colleagues who might be interested in attending. The cost of the course is usually £1600, however we are only asking £250 + VAT to cover our costs. You would also need to foot your own accommodation and food bill and there are some hotels that we can recommend.

The course will be of immense interest to all those HE colleagues who are involved with Equality and Diversity and would like to either refresh their knowledge or update it, based on casework studies and group participatory exercises. It could also interest those colleagues who are involved in training staff and other practitioners, in mainstreaming Equality and Diversity within institutional practice, as required by both the letter and the spirit of Equality and Diversity law.

The most interesting part of the course will be learning about and being trained in impact assessments, what and why, who should be responsible, accountable and liable for implementing them, who should be involved, how, when and with what required outcomes. What should be published and in what form and how everything should be part of institutional practice, driven by institutional needs.

Trinity Development is very much aware of the seemingly insurmountable challenges that colleagues within various sectors, especially in Higher Education, have been experiencing in trying to implement impact assessments, as part of mainstream institutional functioning. We have therefore developed some practical approaches that make it possible for institutions to enable all staff working within all the equality relevant functions, to conduct impact assessments as required.

All those attending this course should be able to come away knowing, among other things, how to impact assess institutional practice in an appropriate manner. Colleagues who attended our last course in July provided very positive feedback, often coming back with further questions and comments.

For your own knowledge, Trinity Development can visit HE institutions on one off free consultancy meetings in order to share our approaches to implementing impact assessments as part of mainstream institutional functioning, through our Impact Assessment E-Tool and Workbook, for example.

If anyone is interested either in the training course above or arranging a meeting to discuss some of our tried and tested Impact Assessment Tools, then please get in touch with Lydia at our Victoria office on either 0207 960 6621 or e-mail [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>

I look forward to hearing from you soon because as you can imagine, there will be a lot of interest in this course.

	Regards

	Mannie.
