Susanna and all colleagues using the network,
I think we should all remind ourselves occasionally that we should not
put anything on e-mail or attachment that we wouldn't be happy to put on
a notice board.
Perhaps in future we might always consider replying to the individual
rather than the network when colleagues are seeking advice and support.
(Just click the colleagues e-mail address at the end of the network
address, copy, and start a new message).
Having said that I'm sure Middlesex has nothing to worry about.
For Mr Bat's information public sector institutions and organisations
are trying very hard to achieve both compliance with legislation and
good practice within their organisations with regard to equality and
diversity, not just HE. This network is primarily to enable
practitioners to share good practice and ideas, to seek advice from
colleagues and by doing so to assist HE the sector in meeting its aims
with regard to equality and diversity.
Best wishes to you Susanna.

Colleagues, as you will see from the attached, the mail base is
not a place where we can have an open discussion of EO issues.
Susanna.

Susanna,
As a courtesy, I wanted to let you know that I'd picked up on a thread
on a web discussion list where you expressed your discomfort about Mdx's
admissions policies.
I'm making some enquiries to see if the university's policy is
unfair/discriminatory or not.
I hope this doesn't cause you too much embarrassment or difficulties
with your colleagues at Mdx, but I'm sure you'll understand that its an
important issue of great public interest.
If you have any further comments, don't hesitate to get back to me.
Regards,
Phil Baty
