I received this in response to an e-mail I sent asking anyone if they had provided any specific training(see below. Providing training for your own students seems like a good idea...

Dear colleagues,
We recently launched a "Tomorrow's Lecturers" bursary scheme for oustanding ethnic minority students. The six successful students will get a maintenance grant of £12,000 pa plus waiver of tuition fees towards their MPhil/PhD studies. The purpose of this scheme is to help us improve the diversity of our academic workforce by encouraging talented ethnic minority students to consider academic careers. As part of the bursary, students will have to carry out six hours of teaching per week.
