Здравствуйте, L-Soft.

Вы писали 1 июня 2004 г., 9:48:01:

LSlsaJ18> Tue, 1 Jun 2004 06:48:01

LSlsaJ18> Your subscription to the ADMIN-EO list
LSlsaJ18> (HE Administrators equal
LSlsaJ18> opportunities list) has been accepted.

LSlsaJ18> Please save this message for future reference,
LSlsaJ18> especially if this is the
LSlsaJ18> first time you are subscribing to an electronic
LSlsaJ18> mailing list. If you ever
LSlsaJ18> need to leave the list, you will find the
LSlsaJ18> necessary instructions below.
LSlsaJ18> Perhaps more importantly, saving a copy of
LSlsaJ18> this message (and of all
LSlsaJ18> future subscription notices from other mailing
LSlsaJ18> lists) in a special mail
LSlsaJ18> folder will give you instant access to the list
LSlsaJ18> of mailing lists that you
LSlsaJ18> are subscribed to. This may prove very useful
LSlsaJ18> the next time you go on
LSlsaJ18> vacation and need to leave the lists
LSlsaJ18> temporarily so as not to fill up
LSlsaJ18> your mailbox while you are away! You should also save the "welcome
LSlsaJ18> messages" from the list owners that you will
LSlsaJ18> occasionally receive after
LSlsaJ18> subscribing to a new list.

LSlsaJ18> To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to the list,
LSlsaJ18> just send mail to [log in to unmask] This is called "sending mail
LSlsaJ18> to the list," because you send mail to a
LSlsaJ18> single address and LISTSERV
LSlsaJ18> makes copies for all the people who have
LSlsaJ18> subscribed. This address
LSlsaJ18> ([log in to unmask]) is also called the
LSlsaJ18> "list address." You must
LSlsaJ18> never try to send any command to that address, as it would be distributed
LSlsaJ18> to all the people who have subscribed. All
LSlsaJ18> commands must be sent to the
LSlsaJ18> "LISTSERV address," [log in to unmask] It is very important to
LSlsaJ18> understand the difference between the two, but fortunately it is not
LSlsaJ18> complicated. The LISTSERV address is like a FAX number that connects you
LSlsaJ18> to a machine, whereas the list address is
LSlsaJ18> like a normal voice line
LSlsaJ18> connecting you to a person. If you make a mistake and dial the FAX number
LSlsaJ18> when you wanted to talk to someone on the phone, you will quickly realize
LSlsaJ18> that you used the wrong number and call again. No harm will have been
LSlsaJ18> done. If on the other hand you accidentally make your FAX call someone's
LSlsaJ18> voice line, the person receiving the call
LSlsaJ18> will be inconvenienced,
LSlsaJ18> especially if your FAX then re-dials every 5
LSlsaJ18> minutes. The fact that most
LSlsaJ18> people will eventually connect the FAX machine to the voice line to allow
LSlsaJ18> the FAX to go through and make the calls stop does not mean that you
LSlsaJ18> should continue to send FAXes to the voice
LSlsaJ18> number. People would just get
LSlsaJ18> mad at you. It works pretty much the same way
LSlsaJ18> with mailing lists, with
LSlsaJ18> the difference that you are calling hundreds or thousands of people at
LSlsaJ18> the same time, and consequently you can expect a lot of people to get
LSlsaJ18> upset if you consistently send commands to the list address.

LSlsaJ18> You may leave the list at any time by
LSlsaJ18> sending a "SIGNOFF ADMIN-EO"
LSlsaJ18> command to [log in to unmask] You can
LSlsaJ18> also tell LISTSERV how you
LSlsaJ18> want it to confirm the receipt of messages you
LSlsaJ18> send to the list. If you
LSlsaJ18> do not trust the system, send a "SET ADMIN-EO
LSlsaJ18> REPRO" command and LISTSERV
LSlsaJ18> will send you a copy of your own messages, so
LSlsaJ18> that you can see that the
LSlsaJ18> message was distributed and did not get damaged
LSlsaJ18> on the way. After a while
LSlsaJ18> you may find that this is getting annoying,
LSlsaJ18> especially if your mail
LSlsaJ18> program does not tell you that the message is
LSlsaJ18> from you when it informs
LSlsaJ18> you that new mail has arrived from ADMIN-EO. If you send a "SET ADMIN-EO
LSlsaJ18> ACK NOREPRO" command, LISTSERV will mail you a short acknowledgement
LSlsaJ18> instead, which will look different in your
LSlsaJ18> mailbox directory. With most
LSlsaJ18> mail programs you will know immediately that
LSlsaJ18> this is an acknowledgement
LSlsaJ18> you can read later. Finally, you can turn off
LSlsaJ18> acknowledgements completely
LSlsaJ18> with "SET ADMIN-EO NOACK NOREPRO".

LSlsaJ18> Following instructions from the list owner,
LSlsaJ18> your subscription options
LSlsaJ18> have been set to "NOACK REPRO" rather than the usual LISTSERV defaults.
LSlsaJ18> For more information about subscription options, send a "QUERY ADMIN-EO"
LSlsaJ18> command to [log in to unmask]

LSlsaJ18> Contributions sent to this list are automatically archived. You can get a
LSlsaJ18> list of the available archive files by
LSlsaJ18> sending an "INDEX ADMIN-EO"
LSlsaJ18> command to [log in to unmask] You can then order these files with a
LSlsaJ18> "GET ADMIN-EO LOGxxxx" command, or using
LSlsaJ18> LISTSERV's database search
LSlsaJ18> facilities. Send an "INFO DATABASE" command for more information on the
LSlsaJ18> latter.

LSlsaJ18> This list is available in digest form. If
LSlsaJ18> you wish to receive the
LSlsaJ18> digested version of the postings, just issue a SET ADMIN-EO DIGEST
LSlsaJ18> command.

LSlsaJ18> Please note that it is presently possible for
LSlsaJ18> anybody to determine that
LSlsaJ18> you are signed up to the list through the use
LSlsaJ18> of the "REVIEW" command,
LSlsaJ18> which returns the e-mail address and name of all the subscribers. If you
LSlsaJ18> do not want your name to be visible, just issue a "SET ADMIN-EO CONCEAL"
LSlsaJ18> command.

LSlsaJ18> More information on LISTSERV commands can be found in the LISTSERV
LSlsaJ18> reference card, which you can retrieve by
LSlsaJ18> sending an "INFO REFCARD"
LSlsaJ18> command to [log in to unmask]
