'Higher Education and Equality' Powney, Hamilton and Weiner pub 1997 by CRE, EOC and CVCP has a section pp 39-43 on Teaching and the promotion of learning which people might find useful.
Also some years ago QAA did a very useful list on EO in the curriculum. I have this list though I'm just retrieving it from someone I lent it to. It is not electronic but if someone out there volunteers to type it out it could be electronically circulated. Berry

Hello -
The ECU is indeed unable to tackle curriculum-related issues.
Already the ECU has been in conversation with Cliff Allen of the LTSN, and
raised the question of how LTSN can help the sector. We recognise that this
is a difficult area in which expertise resides in LTSN of a kind we don't
have.
During the conversation we also offered our advice and expertise on the
Equality and Diversity aspects of the work to Cliff Allen.
Yours sincerely
Poppy

It seems to be that this a major area of work which we are all struggling
with ( I know I am). Is is something that we can suggest ECU get involved
in, or is it too student orientated?
In any event, can you please make your findings widely available to us here
in Kent too!

Colleagues,
We are in the process of encorporating equality requirments into our
annual course and programme monitoring procedures. I should be very
grateful to receive examples of statements (and explanatory notes) on
race equality from other institutions who have already addressed this
process. Examples from insitutions with a focus on science and
technology would be particularly helpful.
with thanks,
Michael Breaks
