Dear Colleagues,
I have now received 21 responses from HEI's to my request regarding
information on the placing of Gideon Bibles in student halls. Of these
only one placed them. Most replies stated that they would consider it a
highly inappropriate thing to do.
A few make Gideon Bibles available by having a store in the Chaplaincy.
The position taken by the 20 institutions, including those who make it
available through chaplaincies, echoes ECU advice.
Thank you to everyone who replied - if you have not responded I would
still be very pleased to hear from you.

Dear Colleagues,
I would really appreciate your opinions on the placing of Gideon Bibles
in the rooms of students in halls of residence. Does your institution
permit this / does it happen? What is your opinion on this? What do you
think might be the implications for this under the recent Religion and
Belief Regulations?
Look forward to your comments,
Thanks very much,
Mel
