Berry, I'm not sure thats quite so. I agree language around
disability has changed; but I think people still often use language
related to disability in a negative way when they might be talking
about other things. Also, people here, anyway, still frequently use
expressions such as "wheelchair bound", "suffers from epilepsy",
quite a lot. I think it's about mainstreaming disability and disabled
people, so that it is viewed more possitively, and some of the more
negative language starts to disappear. It's time disabled staff and
students weren't just left to the disability officer or hrs expert.
