At York we state for ALCOR that the working week will average 37.5 over
the year but required to work hours needed to undertake duties of post
with rider if regularly working additional hours raise matter with HoD.
For acads we say "no specified hours but full-time & may not undertake
continous engagement with other parties without permission of Council".
For RAs state "the appointment is full-time & hours of work are to be
determined in consultation with supervisor".
If acads or RAS part-time we say "50% fte , ie not less than 18.75
hours" so idea of 37.5 as "norm" exists.
No plans for change pending introduction of HERA & move to single
status.
