Mannie --
The guidance document is so long! Our draft policy document -- the
statement of commitment and intent -- takes up less than two sides of
A4 . . .
However, it doesn't stand alone. The policy document is supported by a
more detailed Implementation Plan modelled on the four Specific Duties
and linked to the Univ's strategic objectives. The Plan, in turn, will
be supported by checklists (based on the questions in section 6.30 of
the Code of Practice) by which Deans of Schools and Heads of
Departments can assess the impact of their areas' policies, practices
and procedures.
Our Race Equality policy document is cross-referenced to an overarching
policy entitled "Valuing Diversity and Promoting Equality". As all
the above documents are in draft form and subject to change following
consultation, I can't release them. However, I'm happy to share a
"model" of our implementation plan, with APU-specific details removed,
if others would find it helpful.
Regards,
Faith
