Hi, interesting, Faith. I raised a similar issue in my university's
response to the plans last June.
We take a more wholistic approach at MU. We believe all the eo
policy should be together, and should relate to all groups which
are the focus of EO concern. We believe that this is a better way,
since most people belong to more than one group; eg.: I am a
disabled woman, and I can find information on gender and disability
in our policy. Within the eo policy, we have procedures and codes
of practice relating to diffrent groups within the main policy.
We are still debating whether to change our eo policy, to make
Race equality in to a different section, or whether to develope a
stand alone policy.
What do others think?
Susanna.
