Can I ask colleagues if their institution has responded to the above
consultation? (The closing date is 15 May).
You will recall that I informed colleagues on the mailbase that I had
alerted heads of institutions via an I-Note, to the consultation paper and
that the Home Office were inviting views on the proposals regarding the
implementation of the Act. Of particular significance for the HE sector
were the specific duties being proposed for HEIs and the public bodies
proposed for addition to Schedule 1A. Institutions were encouraged to
respond to the consultation.
If your institution has responded, it would be most helpful if you cd kindly
send a copy to me at UUK (preferably by e-mail). I am currently drafting a
response on behalf of UUK, however to date I have received just 5 responses.
In order to ensure that I can be as comprehensive as possible in stating any
issues or concerns for the sector it wd be really helpful to hear from you.
Responses from institutions will also be informative for Berry Dicker and I,
who are on the CRE Working Group to produce the Education Code of Practice.
Many thanks indeed to colleagues who have already sent me their response.
I wish you a lovely w/e. It's beautiful here in London - hope it is with
you!
Fiona
